First

My bride yesterday was my first child to get married that I have photographed over the past eleven years. I can not believe this is happening already to me. What a great privilege it was to be there at her wedding and celebrate with all of her family who I have grown to love and admire. She made a beautiful bride and her grandparents opened up there amazing home, and I do mean amazing, with the inter coastal or is it inner coastal, which ever, that was there back yard and the beach was the front. Everyone was so kind and it was nice seeing my Savannah clients in Sarasota.

What a house! This kind of house might bring me back to Florida.

Warning you might get baby fever

Before we left for our Florida adventures I photographed two new little beans. You really forget how little they are, of course Alexa was 8 pounds when she was born so she was never this little. They are so sweet and it makes you want a new baby too. Congrats to each of the families they are precious. PS I will be out of town until the 9th, photographing a wedding today in Sarasota Florida then speaking next week in Tampa, in between some rest and relaxation.

Merry Christmas!

Today was awesome, we had Scotts family in town and Alexa was for the first time really excited about her presents. She woke up in a mood but quickly cheered up. I can't help but be thankful and excited about this year and for 2008. I was also so excited to get a Katherine Sandoz painting, if you have read my previous posts, I have been a little obsessed about her paintings for oh, ten years and I can not believe I have two of them, and one is of myself. It was the best gift I think Scott has ever given me. I will be traveling until the ninth after I give my speech for Kodak. (big gulp) I am really so nervous and excited at the same time, I always think it is good to do something that scares you, how else do you know if you can do it if you do not try?

You can tell alot from peoples artwork on there wall. I know to keep it safe or if I can get a little artsy and have strange requests. In this case I thought they were probably up for anything. It is so important to immediately establish a connection as soon as I meet someone. I connected right away with this family. I have a couple others of her pregnant that I will share after I speak with her. She was a great subject.

Atlanta

We all took off to Atlanta for Paula Deens magazine to photograph the gala for HEROS which raises money for children with AIDS in Georgia. It was truly a moving experience hearing the two men talk about there program. We decided to take Alexa to the aquarium and shopped of course. Here are a few of Alexa from our adventures, you will have to wait until the magazine comes out to see the others.

Beaufort

I had not been to Beaufort for awhile, it is so beautiful, even if it was raining and dark. Bartlet and Kurt were married last night at the beautiful historic church St. Helena, it is 300 years old and just amazing. The reception was held at her mothers house which just left me drooling, she was the picture of a true southern woman, or at least what I imagine. She had great silver, fancy towels in the bathroom, you know the kind you feel bad you are wiping your hands on, and wonderful paintings of her children on the wall, I could go on, I just adored watching her. Did I mention they had a cake from Custom Cakes as well.

It has been a great successful Christmas season! Thank you! Last night I photographed a family who was a little nervous picking the right age to document there cute little girl.Any age in my opinion is right! But I assured them that we would have fun and that 15 months is a perfect age to do some portraits. I think they will be glad they did, and will have a hard time choosing.

Connor is here

Leah was featured on a previous blog pregnant, three weeks ago she was blessed with this cute little boy and sister could not be more excited.

Happy Days

It was such a foggy morning out the day I photographed this family. It was beautiful, fog always reminds me of Jack Leigh, when I worked in his studio he would tell me stories about getting up at dawn to ride around in the fog and he would get just amazing images. His studio closes next week, he was a mentor and an incredible man who inspires me long after he has passed.

Is she really 12?

Isabella graces one of the first pages on my website, she is the child with the yellow raincoat. She was four years old in that photo and i had bought a new camera that day and tested my first roll out on her. I met her waiting tables when she was about one. Her family would come in and her mom has been one of my biggest supporters and one of my great friends. Now in seventh grade, it makes my heart hurt to see her get older, not because I am getting older too,(ok maybe a little) but she seems to have grown up in a blink. I so love this family.

Banks is so big! He has made past appearances on the blog,I photographed him before he was born and now he just turned two! His dad is one of the best dentists in town Charles Fanna, I hate going to the dentist hate it hate it, and he makes it so easy, oh and has good taste in art.

Artists

I always get a tad bit nervous and very excited to photograph artists. Paris and Michael are both great artists and you might have seen him at the Telfair art weekend selling his great paintings. We had a great time wondering around downtown finding different and new places. Savannah is so interesting and big but also very small, I used to run into Paris when I was like 19 years old, I helped her when her car was broken, I do not know why this sticks out to me, I would then run into her randomly and now have gotten to finally know her. I know a little bit of random info.
