Tobia Tied The Knot

It is always a great compliment when another photographer whose work you adore asks you to photograph her wedding. We had a great time and the weather was perfect. The setting was at Tybee at this beautiful rustic beach house, cupcakes for the wedding cake and amazing artists all around. I love being surrounded by other artists, congratulations Tobia and Timmy!

The week has just flown by. My cough is finally letting up, thank goodness and I finally have time to blog. I was in the country for three days for Paula Deens Magazine with Brandon her assistant, aka creative director for her magazine. He is truly amazing with his talent and energy. We had a great time photographing his friend Sara for the magazine, she will be featured next year in the magazine. Sara was a wonderful artist and decorator, she lives in a house on the same property she was born. She can actually see the house she was born in, this seemed to be a common thing in the country. It was thirty minutes to a Burger King, and I have never seen so many stars. We were put up in a cabin built by Brandons dad, with roosters that woke me up early every morning. I have never seen so much taxidermy, turkeys, bobcats, you name it they hung it. It was so wonderful, it was a really full of good families who just loved being around each other and everyone helped everyone else out. I had a great time, it was kind of nice having no cell phone service, internet, tv. Here are some photos, Brandon secretly wants to be a model I think, we carried the bobcat which we named bobby around with us and took photos of him, I know strange, but with no tv, and no liquor (it is a dry county) we had to entertain each other.

Lisa has a color code system on what mood she is for the day. This little girl showed me all her colors today. She was so cute, we had to balance her on her moms head to get her to smile for some. She did so good, and alot better then Alexa would do in a studio setting, I have tried with her and failed many times. Here are some of the pics.

I love Island Eye Care

I met this family about eight years ago, it could have been nine years I can't remember. They have always just seemed to be a part of my life. They have made such an incredible difference in my business and my life. Jim talked years ago about connecting our business downtown, I even wrote in a journal I was keeping at the time. I thought this man must be crazy, I didn't know him that well at the time and of course it sounded great to me. I did not have a huge client base at the time and I had no idea how that would ever happen. Well about six years later I saw Jim at a wedding, and he helped me get into a space and grow to the point I am now. I am forever grateful to their family for helping me get to the next step. Four years later this month I have been out of my house and now am expanding again. I can't believe it, thank you to Jim and Kelli for believing in me. Now that I have gotten all mushy, here are a few of there kids. They are so big now, of course I am still the same age!

Rebecca and Brooks

Last night I photographed a beautiful wedding at the Mansion on Forsyth. We had a great time taking all the photos before and she was stunning in her gown. They of course were great dancers since the whole wedding was from Statesboro, and boy they know how to throw a good party. The night was flawless, congratulations Rebecca and Brooks. My Little Monet

I bought Alexa a little easel and she just loved it. She squealed and said cool. So we let the little artist go to work so hopefully she will stop drawing on herself. She has little hope of being an accountant coming from two artist.

Attention

I am happy to announce some new things we are doing with the studio. I know most of you have been able to get to know sweet Lisa who has been with me for one year now, (we just had our anniversary!) and Allison who is the brain behind photoshop and keeps the orders straight. Well they will both be photographing as well. We are introducing mini sessions for Christmas, for $150.00 you will get fifty one sided Christmas cards and thirty minutes with one our talented photographers at Fort Pulaski. Liz & Kalib

This weekend was a weekend of weddings, say that fast five times! LIz and Kalib were married Saturday at the cathedral. She was stunning, and so calm. The wedding was full of beautiful details and even a trolley tour of Savannah between the ceremony and reception. The reception was at the Hilton with the flowers done by Harvey Designs. This was the first cool weekend, I hope that there are more to come.

The Mansion

Shelly and James were married yesterday in a beautiful ceremony at the Davenport House with a reception at the Mansion. It was such a beautiful day, it was overcast when I needed it to be and then the sun would come back out. They were a great couple from DC, with a great family. The dad gave an incredible speech which made it hard to focus since I now think about my little girl and tear up. We walked all around Savannah and took photographs and they had a wonderful band called Mr. Potato Head that came in from Charlotte I believe. It was a magical night. Congrats Shelly and James, here are a few from the wedding.

The Judge

I photographed Lori Judge and her family today. Her son Albert is so cute, he had the cutest little rolls on his arms. Lori sold me my first house and was great, she now has opened in one year this great space on Abercorn and Jones. She has great vision and is a great person to work with as well. She helped me through the scary part of the first house. We had fun around downtown taking photos of Albert. Here are a few.

I need a house on the water

I have decided I need a house on the water. I know keep dreaming, but I can just imagine myself waking up having my coke ( I do not like coffee) and seeing the high tide with a cool breeze hitting me. That is what I did this morning. I was able to photograph one of Alexas little classmates Stella. She is so cute and a really good listener. We had so much fun, grandma sang patty cake, I was licked by three golden retrievers and the weather was perfect. Here our a few from today.

Carolyns Back! (with baby!)

I had posted a shot of a woman pregnant back in July and she now has her two month old beautiful baby boy. Her creative energy is wonderful and her excitement for life is inspiring. I just love going to there house. I jumped on a trampoline with her two girls overlooking the water, it was so much fun. She always has great ideas and then lets me do what I want. I can't wait for many more years with her family they are wonderful people. Here are a few shots from today.

Madison

I just love this mom. We always have such a good time taking photos not to mention she lives in this beautiful house on the water with windows everywhere. A photographers dream. She always cracks me up with all of her little girls pretty outfits and of course I just stripped her down for a few. I could have gone all day but the baby had other ideas.

Red Wagon

Grandma and Grandpa Hall came up this weekend and bought the little bean her first wagon. Here she is saying cheese. I think she got that from tv because I did not tell her that ! We had a fun time pushing her around in it.

Kitty Corner

Alexa gives me the funniest look when she is annoyed with me, usually it is when she is doing something she is not suppose to do. It takes all of me not to laugh at her when she looks at me like this.

Lucky for us we bought our first house and little did we know we were moving on what is known as "kitty corner". we soon found out why. WIth about 23 cats next door and growing what seemed like by the day we had gotten it finally under control. We made peace with the neighbors and we finally came to be friendly and had the cats get under control. Well apparently there is some other reproducing cats on the next street and it looks like one of them decided we looked nice and found a new home. They fool you, they are so cute when they are little and then they get big. Now do not get me wrong I love the one I have, but, I do not want this to be a trend! He is cute though, follows my husband around the yard and is real sweet. So we will fix him and he will stay outside. I am such a sucker.
