Fort Jackson

Sally and Brian were married yesterday at Fort Jackson on the Savannah River. Anne Mcguire, Sally and her mother did a great job with the details of the wedding. Friday night started out with a dinner at Vics and then an afterparty at the Jepson. On Saturday night the weather could not have been more perfect, in Savannah we would be ok with some heat as long as the bugs don't come along. It was breezy and the nats were no where to be found. The reception was decorated with sunflowers by Holly Jakkaola (Holly I hope I spelled that right! ) she has such great distinctive taste. Food was provided by Nick Muller, great as always. The night would not have been complete without a canon firing and fireworks, it was a nice surprise for the bride and groom. Sally and I shared alot in commmon, her birthday is one day from mine, she went to SCAD then moved to San Diego.
Her bridesmaids were so funny, they had me laughing from the moment I arrived,I felt as though I had known them all for years.

I felt a little creative at the rehersal.

Baby Plan

Today we had Sarahs third session of her baby plan, we went downtown and brought the whole family. She is cute as a button and did not mind us shuffling her to all different locations, I keep trying to decide what is my favorite age, six months is so cute because they sit up and do not get away from you, nine months is nice because they stand when leaning on something, I guess it is all my favorite, because Alexa is two and I love that age too. Here are few from today

Drew has the cutest dimples when he smiles, his mom is a real hoot. She is so funny and full of life, she had a party for her son since he was graduating high school and all of the people who have helped him through the years came. It was a great time and it was full of really caring people who were so giving. One man in particular was quite a character, he really got Drew going here is a shot with him and Drew

And on another square

Savannah is so beautiful anytime of year and pretty much all over downtown is a photographers dream. In Johnson Square Katherine and John had a beautiful reception that followed a ceremony at Christ Church. My great friend and photographer Bart Young photographed the event for the studio. The details were incredible, they had the whole square plus the street going to city hall. Katherine was stunning! Congradulations !

Would you look at that light!

Last night Trisha and Bryce tied the knot at Sacared Heart and had the reception at the Mansion on Forsyth. What a beautiful day, it was maybe 75 and perfect. The families were so kind. Trisha was so beautiful in her dress, and Bryce was one of the nicest guys I have met. We walked to take some shots in Forsyth and look at the light we found, I was so excited about it I think I squealed out loud.

Some moms make it look so easy

This mom has three kids, always a smile, and great taste. Some moms just make it look so easy.

Three times the fun

These kids are so funny and crazy. There mom flies me in to Shreveport on her buddy pass to photograph her children, she gets me all puffed up telling me how she loves my photographs and how I see her kids how they are. I just love her even if she didn't puff me up, I love that she gets what I try to show. I have been trying to nail it down and put it into words what I am trying to show in my photographs. I guess it would be so you can look back and see a photo and remember how they were, see there personality, there funny little quirks. I love Candy (that is mom) because she lets me just take her kids, she dropped us off and we just play, she was happy to get some stuff done as well!

Its contagious!

Baby Patrick was born in February to Scotts cousin. He is so sweet, seeing them look up at you and fall asleep almost makes you forget what you see at 3am then again at 6am and so on. Maybe Alexa needs a sister or brother? It seems every mom in her class has caught the pregnant bug, after seeing this sleeping baby it gave me a little tug.

Shreveport

I have been a woman on the move this week. I went from Atlanta to Shreveport and am photographing about nine families while I am here to see my in laws. Here are some of Cindys cute little kids, Mary and Henry at this really cool farm place, it was so well manicured and funky, I loved it!

Hotlanta

I had such a great time in Atlanta with Liana Lehman Leham and five other fabulous photographers from around the country. It was two full days of "business bootcamp". I felt so inspired and connected, it was like summer camp for photo nerds. We talked shop for two 12 hour plus days, we cried, laughed, and lasting friendships. Thanks girls!
