Hot Dogs, Pickles, and Grapes

That was on the menu today at our picnic. I finally took a long deserved day off, kicked my husband out to the studio, and it was just me and Bean. In the backyard with the warm sun.

Love her pose here, she was full of energy and laughter

Appreciate Life

It was a cold day and I wanted to just curl up in bed and stay there, I headed out to Fort Pulaski to meet a new family and it was such a treat. Her immediate smile put me at ease and calmed me down from the front fort lady telling me I should clean my purse, I tried to explain to her that I have a two year old that likes to go through it, anyhow, I knew that this was going to be a great shoot. August (mom) explained to me she just finished with treating breast cancer, she found a lump last year when her sweet little girl was four months old, and she was only 32. She realized she never had a family portrait and was excited for these photos. She really made me sit and think about appreciating life, and family, and even when life is crazy or the lady at the front makes an obvious observation. Thank you August for sharing your story with me.

Kodak called and I said YES!

About two weeks ago I received a call from Kodak telling me that I was one of five studios in the USA picked as the Photographer to Watch! They narrowed it down to me and another studio and we will speak in Tampa for Kodak at the PPA convention, this convention is huge.I can't believe it! Pinch me! I have used Kodak since I started photography and what an honor to be picked, now I just have to calm my nerves before January. I could not do an entry without some picks, here are my beautiful nephews and sister in law.

There Is Something About Mary

Mary and Mike were married Saturday in a beautiful wedding in Spokane. The day started out like you would picture that part of the country this time of year, dark and rainy, but by the time it was time to take photos the sun came out. We had a great time running around town and of course I had one of my favorite people with me Julie. HEre are a few.

More from Spokane

Yesterday I hung out with Julies family at her moms house. It was a beautiful day, I can't say that today since it is rainy and dark! She really has one of the nicest families and I feel like one of the crew.
