New York City Baby

We have had such a fun family vacation. Went to Buffalo, then to NYC to see my college friend LIssie. It is great to step right back in a conversation like it hasn't been two years since I last saw her. She always would push me a little farther then young nerd me wanted to go, I did not need much help but i was also the only one who worked at the time so they always slept in while I was pushing plates at the HILTON. IT was wonderful to see her, she was a great tour guide in the city and for the day before that at the Larchmont Yacht Club, I could get used to this. PS for everyone who wants to know how I get my child to smile it looks like this- hold cheeks with fingers.

Amy and Jeff

Hi everyone! Chrissy is out of town and is letting me(Lisa) blog this week. I had a great couple for an intimate wedding on Tybee last Thursday. Despite a rainy and dreary start, the evening ended up being beautiful. Amy called me today and asked for a sneek peek at the images. So here are a few of this sweet couple.

Happy Birthday Alex!

It is hard for me to know where to start when describing Alex. He is one of Scotts best friends from high school and he just amazes me. Eleven years ago almost to the day Scott and I dropped him off at a bus station in San Diego so he could go back to New York, he came out to California at first to get away from the bad stuff he was doing in NJ, well he found it again in California. I remember he came over to Scotts house in San Diego after sleeping for days on the streets and smelled like a garbage can. Fast forward eleven years and two kids later he is an amazing success story, seven years sober he has an great wife and two wonderful kids. I can not imagine how much strength and courage it must take to bring yourself up, but he has done it. He just keeps growing and is such a good friend to Scott and he just is an inspiration to others. Happy 35th Birthday! I am so glad to know you and so glad to spend some time with you.

Little Ashley was so so sweet, she was my first shoot in Atlanta the other day. Poor thing was sick the day before and it was so hot out but she brought her smiles. Thank you guys for the amazing time. and emails like this make me feel so happy to have my job. Here is part of my email she sent -

"the photos we got today will be invaluable to me, and i hope with all my might that we will have the opportunity to have you photograph our family for years to come. words can't express my gratitude for the gift you gave us today. thank you, thank you, thank you. travel safely and please keep in touch."

Love THis Family

I love these photos, do not worry Lisa we have great photos of your family. Poor Mama was so worried about the wind, but we did great! We had such a good time, I love these photos for the timeless quality.

Ola + 3

Ola is an amazing woman who is on her third baby in three and half years! I rubbed on her hoping it would rub off on me! I went to her moms amazing house in Atlanta, the house had a creek in the yard and a pool, I would never go anywhere. After the shoot Ola went in the pool, I love how relaxed she is in all of her portraits. Congrats!

Emmaline

Emmaline had a great shoot, what a sweet little girl!

Kate + Luke Part 1

I had to put these up asap, I adored this couple. Fellow SCAD grads they were up for anything, alleys, dirt, heat. They were awesome, and Kate being a fashion major working for Ralph Lauren in New York had great taste. More to come..

Summer Days

Today I woke up grumpy, I do not know why, but I was. I wondered if I will ever figure out the balance of motherhood, being a wife, a business owner. My husbands breathing bothered me, you know one of those days. But by afternoon, once I was at the studio and had Scott and Alexa there with me most of the day I thought how lucky I was. How thankful I am for the mess she leaves at the studio, the cups she has lined up, the bubble wrap she threw around, my markers that go dry because she wants to color. How wonderful life is, and childhood is. Love you Bean and Scotty. And Scotty you can breathe again I pushed my grumps out.

Karla + Shawn

Karla and Shawn were married on Saturday, they were great fun. We clicked the first time we met and I loved her dry humor. They had such a fun wedding with catering by the Lady and Sons, I think I gained about two pounds at the wedding. It is funny to me now but my Grandma used to always say oh, I think I gained two pounds and would go home and weigh herself to prove it. At the time I thought that was silly, who cares about two pounds I thought? (I was also about 21 at the time and about 118) those were the days! Now I see what the big deal is about two pounds. I felt a little guilty pigging out but boy the food was good, and two biscuts, some fried chicken, and some mac and cheese later, I was two pounds heavier but it was worth it. Congrats guys! Have fun in Europe.

More Doggies

Lisa had two little dogs and I just love the one with the hand in it. She did such an amazing job, thanks to everyone for participating! I still have a few to share, we were pretty booked.

Catch him if you Can!

This little boy was fast, all of us were pretty sweaty after chasing him around. But how it was worth it. These kind of photos are what keeps me coming back for more. I get tired, burnt out sometimes, but once I am photographing my blood is rushing my head is swirling. I just love it. I had full creative control with this family and they just let me do my thing.

Sneak Peek at Dog Days of Summer

Had a great turn out for Dog Days of Summer, so great I am thinking of possibly doing two more days! Well, three showers (it was so hot!), one wedding, and seven shoots later in the last two days,I am tired. Lisa and Emmaline did three of the shoots, but it was a hot weekend, but so enjoyable. WE are thankful for the dogs we photographed this weekend and have alot of dog food to bring to Georgia Animal Rescue and Defense. Of course I could not help but to take a quick photo of sweet Ava. I will post more, but my daughter is begging for a horse back ride and for me to shut my computer, she wins.

R & R

I was honored to photograph this family yesterday. Dad is on R&R from Iraq for two weeks and we had fun doing some family photos. He had just returned the day before and I know his wife had to be so excited to have him back. I hope you have a great two weeks off, look forward to seeing you guys again in January. PS For deployed soldiers we like to do a free session for your family when your husband or wife comes back from being deployed or is about to deploy.

The Best Dentist

Charles Fana has a great practice in Savannah, (http://www.drfanadentistry.com/) I have photographed his family since his wife was pregnant. Banks is so easy to photograph, he has not given me a hard time ever and he is just the cutest little boy.

One Last Blog Today

Because she is cute and she is mine.

This family spent the week together at the beach for Grandmas 60th birthday. For her birthday she just wanted a portrait of her family. I was able to fit my workout in at this shoot, I was bouncing, running acting like a complete nut. But hey, it was all worth it when you come out with portraits like this to capture this precious time in your life.

Summertime

Tons of great families this month, it has been a busy May. Great kids and beautiful sunset, what else can you ask for?

Courtney + Ken

Courtney was a perfect bride, relaxed, beautiful, and did not stop smiling. Ken and Courtney were married at St. Thomas on Isle of Hope with a reception at the Yacht Club, Sebrell Smith of sesevents.com did a great job arranging the whole wedding and the flowers. It is always nice to work with people you like and know will make the day go smoothly. I hope you two have a great time in Mexico!

Jamison at 9 Months

I just adore this family, they are more then just clients to me they have become my friend as well. I photographed their wedding , their first born, now their second born. I just love it. You have to love the two sisters hugging, they are some of the kindest people I know and I always look forward to seeing them again.

Sports Illustrated will NOT be calling

Ok I will not be winning any swimsuit competitions. or spelling if you read my blog.I tried to photoshop some unsightly areas, but could not figure out how to make it look normal, maybe I could put Cindy Crawfords butt on mine instead? Anyhow, after a nice dentist gave me a fancy IV for my tooth he is working on, I was feeling pretty goofy. YEs I hate going to the dentist and they have to knock me out to keep me from talking to avoid getting whatever done. Anyhow, some friends brought us out what was suppose to be a boat ride but we ended up sitting out a awesome storm under a dock, after it passed I did some poses for them off the dock. The water was perfect, I wish I could go home to this every day. PS I can't believe I am putting myself on the web in my suit.

Fun In The Sun (and crowds)

I *heart* this family, I photographed the birth of their second child and have seen her grow over the last year and half. We did not even think about how busy the beach would be being Memorial Day Weekend, but we managed to get some fun beach portraits around Tybee giving them that beachy feel and fun. We later headed out to splash in the water.
