This past weekend I was asked by the very talented and fellow Savannah photographer Donna Von Bruening of DVB photo to help her photograph a wedding in MIami. Well of course I jumped at the chance, I quickly thought lounging by the pool during the day and people watching at South Beach at night. We got to do a little of both, but of course we had to work to. Which was ok, because her bride was stunning, and the couple was so much fun. It is really a breath of fresh air to be the assistant and use creative liberties and just loosen up a little. Well, we took some great photographs, i was so proud of them. She had a great smile and beautiful big eyes.
I love this photo, it is her grandma, her mom, and her.
Setting up for a shot
The result
A couple more photos, did I mention they were nice too?
Of course being the complete photo nerds we are, when we went to south beach on Friday night we still had photo on the brain and brought this coaster to the wedding to take the ring photos. Also the other photo, I don't know what got into me, I guess I was feeling a little silly

Sit Alexa
Sometimes I feel like I am talking to a puppy, sit alexa please sit, stay. Well the other day I was able to get her to stay, we bought her her first little bike. She loves it, hasn't quite got the pedal thing but she loves it. It is so much fun seeing her face light up, I now feel bad for all of the grief I gave my parents when I did not show excitement for all they did, it is kinda of funny that way, growing up you just think your parents are being silly and well I am going to say it, stupid, now being a parent I am finding they were pretty wise. and that parenting isn't so easy!

Happy Eyes
This is the second time I have photograph this family in about four months. THey always make my day a little brighter. I love love photographing them, as you see in the photos they are easy on the eyes and the little girl knows what I mean when I say I want happy eyes and she is only six! WEll it was a very cold and windy day that day and the grandparents were in town from Brazil so when we came back to the house we sat around and sipped on some kind of liquor, there was a language barrier but we got along great and the liquor made me nice and warm inside. I could have stayed all night, they showed me photos of the great grandmother when she was younger, a long line of pretty women. Here are some from that day.

Love Lovett
It is always a little frighting photographing another photographer who you like. The pressure! So I went over to her beautiful house, she has such a great eye and I did not realize what a good painter she is. I exchaged for a painting, I can not wait to get it. She said it was ok to put these up, so here you go. Thanks Catherine I had a great time!
Happy Birthday Bean!
Even Mrs. Butler made an appearance
Alexa turned two two weeks ago, but we had a little get together Sunday of just a few people. I am always amazed at moms who are so creative at there childs birthdays. I figured I could get away with it for one more year. I was fortunate enough to have Minet Rushing of Custom Cakes make her cake. I love Minet, I do not even like cakes and I will eat hers, she does the most delicious wedding cakes as well. Anyhow, we had a good time and I am glad I did not drive that day because we managed to collaspe a wall trying to get a ball out of the tree outside, our garage door opener had to be put back on, and then our hot water heater went out. So we were scared to touch anything! But bean had a good time, she crashed at 7 and slept very well.

Little Ava
I was looking at peoples blogs today, of different photographers and came across one that had me on the verge of tears. Tonight I had just put Alexa to bed and had been wrestling her temper tantrum for a good hour and she finally went to sleep. I found myself slightly annoyed at her and then I read this blog about another photographers three old Ava who passed away on Monday. She apparently lived next door to her in laws and went back and forth. Last weekend she crawled into her family car and it is summer in Australia where she lives and she had locked the doors and could not get out. It made my heart drop, I looked at this woman's blog and saw tons of photos of her. Her moms name is Sheye Rosemeyer, so in your prayers tonight say one for her family. I do not know her, but I thought of little Ava when I went back in Alexas room and gave her extra kisses and thanked God for another day with my baby.

Here are a few photos of my beautiful sister n law and brother n law. The light was beautiful of course, and my subjects were good as well. Also here are some of Alexa and her cousin Liam in La Jolla, the ocean was so nice and the weather was perfect. My calfs have finally recovered from all the up hill walking, boy I really need to start working out when a vacation makes me sore!
