I am a little behind posting all of our great weddings we have had the past six weeks. Bart did a fabulous job for Christine Hall Photography at Lucenda and Lee's wedding. Bart is an awesome photographer and friend and I had no doubt he would do a great job. It is great to have friends like him and Donna Von Bruening, love them both and do not know what I would do without them. It is nice to have a great support of friends with your business, and of course I have Scott to give me great love, support, and patience with my crazy ideas. Lucenda made a gorgeous bride and I can not wait to show them all to you, thank you for letting Christine Hall Photography be a part of your wonderful day.
I just love this photo, of course she is hard to take a bad photo of but I just love trying to get interesting poses and get people out from the norm portrait session. I did this pose on a previous client and had to repeat it. I really try to capture the person and do it in a different way that one would not expect. So I am warning you I sometimes will make strange requests put you in the alley somewhere you can not imagine I will get anything, have you lay down, place you in dirt, but then magic happens and I just know it when I see it.
More great clients I photographed in Shreveport, I had not seen them since they added there new bundle of joy, it is amazing when kids hit three how much easier it becomes to photograph, although before they are three it is great cardio for me!
I just love watching families grow, these two sweet boys have the prettiest blue eyes. They are some of the great clients I have in Shreveport and I just adore seeing them each time I go.
I love it when I get home and Alexa comes and gives me a big hug and we spend 20 minutes making the laundry basket into a car and spinning her through the house. I love that the sun came out after a good rain today and Alexa and I went on a "puddle hunt" I love the light on days like this and above all I just love coming home.
I am always so excited to work with Paula Deens magazine, it is so neat to see it in a publication. I was able to meet Billy Joels wife Katie and she is doing a cook book. Also my photo ended up as a promo for Harrahs Casino.
I went over to photograph an addition but could not help but stop and take a few of Jack. He is a great kid and I have been taking his photos since he was born at the hospital. Time seems to fly right by.
I just love seeing a mom with her new baby. Erin was a bride of mine and I am honored to photograph her new little girl. I love the relationships I am able to build with my brides that they think of me to be a part of another special day for them. She was a dream to photograph and as pretty as her mom!
Lisa had a great shoot last week with little Henry. I am so excited to have Emmaline and Lisa part of Christine Hall Photography and to offer two great photographers to our clients.
Connie was my good friend and fellow photographer Bart Youngs aunt, she passed this past week and she was a special lady. Connie bounced to her own beat and that is exactly what I loved about her, she was sensitive and had a big heart. I will miss your visits and fun calls. This was the last photo of her and her father, I was feeling lazy that day and was going to make an excuse why I couldn't come, then I thought about how important photos are and how special she was. Aloha Connie.

How could I not post these right away? I have had some time to relax a little from the many weddings and portrait shoots so I have had time to blog right away after a shoot, does that make sense to only me? Sometimes my blog posts are really random thoughts running through my head and English was not my strongest subject, so there is my excuse, part lazy, part just grammar challenged. Back to the Barrett family, great family, and they even hired me when the came down to the Cloister last summer and we are talking about an August New York trip. I just might have to save my New York trip for August, so all you New Yorkers if you would like to do a portrait session let me know. Are these girls not the cutest things you have ever seen? I love the one of the mom and her daughter, she kept saying to you "I love you mommy" Allison ( the mom) makes me want to have four children when I see her with her kids, she is made to be a mommy.
Riley has such a funny personality, she is Alexas second cousin I think, (Scotts cousins kid) I am not sure what that makes her, but she is a doll, and I could hardly believe my child let me take a photo of her without crying.
I flew in yesterday to Shreveport to photograph some of favorite Shreveport families. First up was Candie and Gregs sweet children, Candie and another client opened a stationary store called the Paper Lilly here in Shreveport, she has been a great contact for my Shreveport clients and I just adore her kids. I photographed these girls five years ago as cute chubby babies and there brother was two. We always have the best time and this time was no exception. I always feel like it is a great compliment when kids remember me since I see them once a year and it makes such a postive impact on them, it shows them that photo sessions do not have to be stiff and formal but can be alot of fun!
Lauren was exquisice in her Vera Wang from Bleu Bell Bridal, her dress was to die for and the details that Ann Mcguire put into this event with Laurens family was amazing. They were married at the Wesley with a grand reception at the beautiful Telfair wit h the tallest cake I have ever seen by of course Custom Cakes and food from Susan Mason. Her flowers were done by John Davis and they had this great cavier and champagne ice sculpture with my favorite champange, so i was imagining myself with a glass. They had a beautiful cocktail recetion in the square with Kristen on the harp and Ricardo on the violin and monogramed pillows. This wedding had some of Savannahs best and it turned out perfect! Now that I have been through all of the details because I know you all like to know the who and where, I have to tell you about Lauren and Martin. It is always touching to see a groom who is so explosive about his emotions, Marty is such a gentleman and was so proud to have Lauren as his wife. He was just in awe, you could tell by the way he looked at her and the fact he told her over and over how beautiful she was, and what girl doesn't like to hear that. Lauren was perfect and looked like royality to me, I did not meet her or even speak with her until her rehersal night and we connected immeditely, she was amazing to photograph and had the warmest most welcoming eyes. Thank you, your wedding was one I will not forget. I am working with three hours sleep so I will head to bed and share these images. Cheers!
Dustin is the GM at the famous Lady and Sons and they had a great wedding with food from Lady and Sons (yum) Here are a couple more from Julia and Dustin.
Amy and Damion were married in Hilton Head on Friday at the Hilton. It was special for many reasons, I did Amy's brothers wedding last year and it is always a great compliment to be hired for another family wedding. Lisa and I cried about three times during the wedding and reception, the groom was from Australia and had not seen his family in three years and they had a very special bond. Amy made a beautiful bride and was so cool and collected. The day was perfect, thank you for letting me a part of it, my eyes have finally dried up.
This is guy was a fighter, born at 29 weeks his mom is happy to have him home now. He was so sweet and just did what ever we wanted, this was probably the easiest newborn photo session I have done, except my battery was dead when I first got there and I had to run back home, way to make a first impression!
I had two great weddings this weekend and four shoots, so you can imagine my poor little feet. But it is so great when you get home and find photos like this. Julia and Dustin were a great couple, I will share more tomorrow.
This wonderful family came from Statesboro to have there portrait made with me. I would go get my hair done by an old bride of mine in Statesboro (Jenny Ursay) I heard your expecting can't wait to meet that baby! She gave this family my name, they were easy children and boy the mom was drop dead gorgeous with a cute southeren accent to match. And Jenny does great hair doesn't she?
Whitney and Casey flew down from the great city of Chicago to have there engagement photos done. It was a nice overcast day and these two are so so nice. She even gave me some fancy chocolate after the shoot, so much for the diet. I was being so good and then scarfed three of the chocolates down since that would make them not as fatting as if I would have eaten them slow right? Anyhow thank you for the wonderful gift and for letting me be a part of your upcoming day!
More from the back river taken by Julie Collins (juliecollinsphotography.com) she is such an amazing photographer and I knew it the moment I met her, she was so cute and shy about her photos (this was four years ago) and we became fast friends since. I love her! Emmaline is the girl in the hood, she is also such a treasure, I love working with her and seeing her all the time outside of work. Love you guys!

Found this hiding in the blog folder. She is so pretty.
Julie and Emmaline rocked this wedding for Christine Hall Photography. I have to say also that I love love the mom of the bride, she is what I picture when I think of people from Savannah. She is truly a riot and has been a delight to get to know. Elizabeth looked stunning in her dress and they had a great wedding at the Cathedral and their reception at the Golf Club, I can not wait to share the rest with you!
I am not sure that I have ever posted with a photo without someone in it. Well I woke up one morning at the beach at about 7:30 am and it was actually quiet so I went outside and tried for once to start my morning just enjoying the water and sipping my coke (well I do that everyday!) anyhow I looked out and it looked like a Jack Leigh photograph, so I trespassed (I have photographed the people who own it) so I think they will be ok, I might have to give them a copy and started taking photos. I always am looking for creative ways to take photos when I am doing a session but it was nice to be out there all by myself and just photographing to photograph. I dedicate these photos to Jack, thanks for all of your inspiration, you are greatly missed.
I took these about a month ago, the two hardest ages to photograph in my opinion are 18 month olds and 16 year old boys! But we did really well, he was a trooper and in this photo to get him to smile I told him to picture me a cute 16 year old girl, I guess it was hard to imagine! Thanks guys for such a wonderful morning.
Meghan and Tom were married Saturday in Atlanta. They were such a nice family and everything went smoothly, the rain was touch and go but it held out just enough for us to get some great photographs. We are in the throws of wedding season with Julie and Emmaline photographing for Christine Hall Photography in Savannah, I will share those soon.
I love the back river on Tybee, we stayed all week with our good friends Emmaline, Lance, Heather, Julie, Matt, and of course my crew. Between all of us there were six kids (julie and matt take credit for half!) We had a great time, our house was right on the river with a great view and it was like it was placed right in the middle of a sand dune. I felt like a kid again, we rented bikes and took them out at midnight running the streets and the dark beach, it was like a dream. (that was of course after a couple glasses of champagne! Julie and Emmaline are photographing a wedding tomorrow and I am in Atlanta for my wedding sitting back at the Marriott in Stone Mountain, I do not think I have been to Stone Mountain since I was like ten, just seeing it put me back to ten years old. Picture overload now!
I was having one of those days Monday when you are feeling a little overwhelmed, cars a mess, house is a mess, baby kept you up all night crying. But after I drove over to Hilton Head and met this great family all my woes me went away. this is when I know I am doing exactly what I am meant to do. We had a blast and by the end of the shoot I felt re energized and positive. Can not wait to share the rest with them. Plus I got a good night sleep last night.
I spent the Saturday with Joanne and Ryan at Palmetto Bluff for there wedding. Palmetto Bluff of course did a great job and Joanne had her beautiful flowers made by Vicki at Kiwi. The day was perfect and although the weather was a bit cold the bugs were not around so I will take cold any day over gnats. They had a great time and it was beautiful the way they looked at each other. Congrats and have a great time in South Africa!
I photographed the attorney next door to my studio. We had a blast in a field out in Rincon out in these beautiful fields. The youngest was very spirited and fun to photograph and the older two were just as sweet as can be. I had so much fun!
