Dog Days

Are these not the cutest little dogs? In the past dogs scared me like children scare other people. I thought maybe if I just treated them like a one year old I could get them to do what I wanted, it worked.

Melissa + Greg

Melissa and Greg were married in a beautiful ceremony on a boat behind the Yacht Club. Savannah is such an incredible place to live with the water, the marsh, and people. They were both so nice and were troopers since it was probably one of the coldest days of the year. I could not feel my toes for a good two hours after but the photos were so worth it. My poor bride was shivering but still manged to smile for me. Congratulations! Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day.

The Famous Libby

Libby is a awesome food stylist I work with sometimes with Paula Deen. I had it imagined in my mind what I wanted for her and she is pretty much up for anything. So off we went with a chair, books, and a cake that was pretty but could not eat. Typical in photographing food, looks pretty but with all of the hands on it and tricks they use not really something you want to eat, although she does make food that is really delicious as well.

One,

It is hard to get mad at Alexa, you know how some moms count to get there kids to listen? Well I try it every once in awhile hoping to show some authority, I start one, and then she looks at me with her big eyes and says two.. then I smile and there goes the disipline. How can I stay stern then? I just love her to pieces.

Learning Light

Monday I had great fun teaching Diane how to see light. She is one of my first brides mother and has just dived into photography. She is super excited and wanting to learn so she asked if I would spend the afternoon giving her some pointers. We had such a
great time and she came out with some great images. I have been thinking about hosting
a class for people who are interested in learning there camera and how to see light, light is so important in an image along with composition. I have had several interests

Baby Bean

We are coming up on her third birthday and I just keep being confused at where time went. I also can not imagine life before her, she seems like she was always there, we were meant for each other. I know to all of the english majors out there I probably make you cringe with my writings, but I make it up in pictures right?

LOVE SHOOT

This delightful couple held up well with how cold it was, not to mention the football he missed, all for love. We could not feel our hands by the end, but what a view, and to grow up on bluff drive, a dream. I can not wait for your wedding.

18 months

I have photographed this little girl since she was 6 weeks old. Her parents have to be the nicest people you will ever meet, and her voice puts a smile on my face when she calls the office.

I have the best intentions

I found this hiding in my blog folder of Kristen and Ricardo, both part of the Savannah Wedding Professionals. Kristen never takes a bad photo, I am so jealous

Cherished Reminders

This last week I kept coming back to these two words that a writer wrote about me in Coastal Senior. I know the publication sounds kind of funny for my work to be in since I usually do the other end of the spectrum. I did though, probably eight years ago do a series on older woman who I found interesting, most have sadly passed away but again is a reminder of what the writer said "cherished reminders". Well this week has been a reminder to that, how important photos are, family and life. I saw today a boy with health problems meet one of his hero's and just cried when he met her, held her and just sobbed, another family who is going through turmoil and found out there mom is really ill, and a blog I read often that brings me to tears every time http://www.sheyerosemeyer.blogspot.com/ , her photos and I hope my photos are cherished reminders of joy, memories, and love.

Disney World

There are some things that you just have to do, one being to go on its a small world at Disney World to see why that song drove your father crazy. Alexa really loved it, she did not love the talking heads on the wall of that bear show. Can't blame her they are a little freaky. We learned on this trip to keep it nice and mellow and not throw any loud sounds her way, her new saying is "its scary" She is a little contradictory though like me, hated noises but loved the tea cups, and liked them fast. Maybe next year. Scott was representing the winning TIGERS.

Kodaks Photographer to Watch

I am back from my long vacation/work with great energy. Started off today with an incredible meeting for Savannah Wedding Professionals with a speaker to better serve our great brides. A special thanks to Donna (dvbphoto.com ) for all of her hard work. Now, to get back to why I was gone so long. I spoke for Imaging USA on behalf of KODAK, yes KODAK! I got my shy little (well it is not little) butt up and spoke for thirty minutes, it was incredible. I also want to thank Lori and Ryan from Photography By Lori there to root me on, I had no idea they were at the conference. I can not believe how fast it went and I am so honored to be picked, they picked two studios out of the whole country, there are 8000 photographers that attend this convention and I met so many awesome photographers and was so inspired. Thanks again Joe from Kodak!

Look I already am training her.

she is getting the shoe on the head trick.

Ok Alexa I get it

This is what I feel after an amazing time at Imaging in Tampa. It is a huge convention where over 7000 people attend and I am looking around wanting to pinch myself that they picked me to speak on Tuesday. I am so excited, my photo is in the magazine next to some amazing amazing photographers who I just drool over and stalk when I am there. A quick story though, I was walking to the speakers section trying to take this in and I see one of the photographers who I love and inspired me Nordstromphoto.com I saw her years ago and kept walking by the booth she was at dying to meet her and I have successfully met her a couple times and today she said in passing HI Christine, I almost fell down right then. You know it was one of those moments when it happens so fast and you are like I should have said this or that. Well the great thing about this convention is that it always helps me rethink my business and rework things to better serve you! I am so excited what this year is going to bring, 2007 turned out great, getting voted best of Savannah, Paula Deens Magazine, and now speaking. I look forward to sharing with you all the changes in the studio.

It is very hard for me to sit still for any length of time. I am half way through my vacation and I am having a great time, but of course I am thinking about new goals both personal and for my business. But in the mean time I am enjoying having my two loves everyday and spending time walking, snuggling, and laughing. Happy New Year!
