Tobias Party

Tobia Makeover a wonderful photographer and friend had her bridal shower tonight. I love hanging out with these women, they are all great artists and very nice. I am always excited to get together with them, Heather of course made some food that was so pretty you didn't want to mess it up by eating it. She has a gallery of her jewelry next to Chroma downtown, and is a great cook, also expecting her first baby. Emmaline has the best house downtown on Jones for holding a party. It was just beautiful. I am so excited to be a part of these ladies lives. I worshiped Katherine Sandoz's work (katherinesandoz.com) when I was in college and have had so much fun getting to know her. I will see all of you next week, sorry I missed the after party.

Amazing Grace

I am lucky enough to have clients with great houses, and let me use them. One I have used a couple times is a great client of mine Erica. They have a great beach house named Amazing Grace. I am so thankful for them letting me use it to take photographs. It is so pretty and featured in this months Savannah Magazine. I met the nicest family from Atlanta, they had two sweet girls and were relatives to another client. The light was gorgeous tonight and the family was as well. Congradulations to there sister Suzanne, she just had a new baby girl two days ago, I can't wait to meet her.

Space Cadet

Thank goodness for Lisa, otherwise I would be lost. The one time I make an appointment I screw up the place. I thought I was suppose to be at the beach and instead it was the Yacht Club. So I race from Tybee to the Yacht Club like a crazy woman and of course get behind the slowest drivers. I am happy to say I made it there and the kids were in a good mood still and I had time to have a cocktail, which I needed! We took some great shots, I did there wedding years ago and now they have two cute little boys with eyes to die for. We ran around like a couple of nuts, it is a good thing people new them else we might have been sent to the cooco farm trying to make the boys laugh. I also am including a fun couple I am photographing in October. We did there engagement sessions and boy was she fun and beautiful. I want to take her to the salon and get her color, I have always wanted to be a good looking red head. They were so easy, I can not wait to photograph there wedding.

What a Day

Here is recap, I had a fun family this morning, a baby, a woman who is giving birth tomorrow, her husband, and her 18 month old, then downtown for a two year old which was fun since I used to wait tables ten years ago with her mom, then back to the beach and photographed two more children. So now I am finished my last shoot today with one of my first brides five years ago. We connected right away and she feels like an old friend. She is just a fun, interesting person. It was her sons fifth birthday party tonight and the theme was yellow. Everything was yellow, so when Bonnie answered the door she had yellow sunglasses a yellow lay ( I am pretty sure I spelled that wrong!) but you know what I mean. I walk in everything is, you guessed it, yellow. The food, the balloons, the hats. It was great. What a way to finish the day. She just inspires me to be creative and do whatever, she never gave me direction on her wedding either and just let me go, and boy I ran. I had such a good time, it was great to see Bonnie. And what a awesome day I had shooting.

Crazy Day

Today I have had five photo shoots, and i have to say it has been a great day. Each day I have long shoots like this I just think how lucky I am to be able to do this. I get to meet alot of neat people and get to do what I love. Here are a couple from today. I just think she is so pretty, I photographed her son the last nine months and he is beautiful, I have a hard time backing up from his pretty blue eyes. Also of course I will put one up of Alexa.

Pretty Day

What a pretty day it was today. I had a perfect day of shooting, went to the birthday party of little Abbey, and took a walk. The weather was just gorgeous. Here are a few photos I did today, the boy and the girl are one year and six days apart. I can not even imagine! They were so good and did very well And then I had three sweet boys at Wormsloe.

Three Kids and A Dog

I was so scared to use my digital, I have been very reluctant to use my canon because I am so in love with my RZ (if you are not a camera nerd like myself it is my larger camera I use film with) I love the feeling of it I know it, it feels like my right arm. The canon scares me a little, not as familiar to me, I feel a little too loose and wild with it.But I have been pretty disciplined and have kept telling myself I can do it. I was scared I would not see the same way. The last couple shoots have felt so inspired. I photographed one of my favorite clients, and I know I say that a lot, but it is really such a joy to be a part of these families. Here are a few I did, she let me go a little different then I usually do. I figured I needed to mix it up a little, and luckily she was up for it. What a great time I had, how lucky I am to do this. Oh yeah ps I saw John Cougar Mellencamp on North Beach today filming, I love that guy! I heard he moved to North Beach, need some beach photos of your kids John?! ha ha

Alot of time

I have had alot of time on my hands this week. I do not sit still well and thought I would go stir crazy having a day off. But by the second day I was a little better, now I have done a couple of shoots and had some of the day off and feel great. It always takes me awhile and once I relax I am ok. I have had a good time here in Shreveport, here are a couple of photos I did while I was here. I am happy to photograph some of the same families again and see how there children have grown. Shreveport is great because it is a lot like Savannah, not in looks but the southernness (is that a word?) I have to worn anyone who does read this, writing was never my strong subject, in fact I almost flunked a class because he thought I had plagiarized and did it at the last minute, the sad part about it I told him after lots of tears, is that I just was really bad at writing. What is sorta of funny to me I end up living about four houses down from this professor, I hope he does not remember me as that blubbering student. I know a little off the subject but I get distracted easy, (ask Lisa at the office!)

Dallas

I came to Dallas today to see my cousin Jen, who is an excellent photographer here in Dallas (www.jenjessephphotography.com)
I guess creative jeans must run in the family. We went to dinner with six other great photographers here in Dallas. I drove over for a day and have just had a wonderful time. Here are some photos of her cute little boy Noah. (And some of Alexa too! )
